Jane Caughill: Not a nobody, definitely not a somebody. From a young age Jane knew she was different. She could tell you how many boats were on Lake Mead or a random fact about giraffes if she wanted to. But the one question she can't answer is what she's going to do after college. Being undeniably smart had its pros: an early graduation and a bright future in the medical field. Though, it also had its cons: the constant nagging and reliance everybody had on her. But no matter what, she always found herself helping them. Here's the plan so far: graduate, land a high-paying job in the medical field, live a happy life, the end. But ever since Jane had stepped into that bakery back home as a child, she'd been hooked on the craft. But she's strapped for cash and the pre-med track sounds a whole lot more financially promising. All she needed to do for the next 3 years was keep her head down and work off her pending college loans. The last thing she thought she'd be doing was tutoring some jock. • • • • • • • • Aiden Parker: Definitely not a nobody, and most definitely a somebody. As a three year starter for one of the most prolific college hockey teams in the country he has it all going for him. The looks, the talent, the charm. But when it comes to the classroom he's quite literally failing. With the team nearing playoffs and a sweet chance at the title, Aiden needs to find a way to boost his grades or risk riding the bench. What he wasn't expecting was to be tutored by some chick who could give Einstein a run for his money. She could be a bit shy at times, a bit lost in her thoughts too, but she's exactly what he needs to keep his spot on the team. The two of them strike a deal: she tutors him, he pays her, and that's that. Developing feelings wasn't a part of the deal. But as his feelings fail to dissipate, he begins to realize that maybe winning a championship won't be the sweetest victory after all. Winning the girl is.

Tommy Harding has been Rosie Novak-Donovan's best friend since they were four years old. Quiet. Steady. The only person who's never once flinched at her. She kissed him once at a lake bonfire and told him it didn't count. He said "yeah." Neither of them has mentioned it since. ❤️ Now he's Birch Harbor PD. Real badge. Real uniform. And Rosie - FBI daughter, criminal justice degree, academy starting in September - is back in town for the summer and trying very hard not to notice that her best friend grew up when she wasn't looking. 👮‍♂️ Tommy's not the quiet kid who let her win arguments anymore. He's six foot something of small-town cop who could have anyone in Birch Harbor and most of them have tried. He chose Sarah. Sweet, easy, uncomplicated Sarah. The kind of girl who doesn't argue about badge jurisdiction or report parking violations or make his jaw tight every time she walks into a room. The safe choice. The smart choice. 🔥 Tommy Harding has always been smart. Except when it comes to the girl he's been pretending not to love since he was five years old. 🤍 A Birch Harbor story. Friends to lovers. One summer. One badge between them. Two people who know everything about each other except the one thing that matters. Can be read as a standalone but a better experience when read with Where You Left Me and Where You Found Me. 🤍 ⚠️ Content warning: this story contains explicit sexual content between consenting adults, strong language, and underage drinking. At Frostwood University, the ice is cold, the hockey is brutal, and falling for your best friend's little sister is strictly off-limits. Nolan James Remington is a 6'5" shutdown defenseman with a reputation for being untouchable-on and off the ice. Brooding, fiercely loyal, and carrying ghosts no one else can see, he's perfected the art of keeping everyone at arm's length. Especially Ruby Kensington. Ruby Hope Kensington is all sunshine and chaos. With her honey-blonde waves, dimpled smile, and a heart that's been through more than most people twice her age, she's the warm spark in Frostwood's frozen world. She's also Kenny's little sister-the one girl Nolan is forbidden to want. When a series of morning runs, late-night pancakes, and undeniable chemistry crack the walls Nolan has spent years building, the line between loyalty and desire begins to blur. What starts as stolen glances and secret touches quickly becomes something deeper, something that could destroy the only real family Nolan has ever known. Because some rules are meant to be broken... and some hearts aren't built to survive the fallout. Empty Net is a spicy, emotional college hockey romance full of banter, slow-burn tension, and the kind of love that refuses to stay in the penalty box.
