At Willard's department store, none of the night security guards survive for long, and eighteen-year-old Daniel Gale is about to discover why. "At the heart of it, Night Shift is a haunting love story. It is equal parts moving and chilling, which is what makes it so excellent." - Carmen Ho @ HQ ***** Tired of living out of his backpack, Daniel ignores the rumors about the old building being haunted and accepts the latest vacated position of night guard at Willard's department store. As his life becomes more entwined with Willard's, Daniel senses unnatural changes and bizarre coincidences. Soon he begins to suspect Willard's is hiding something more sinister than gossip about ghosts - something that could make him the next casualty of the night shift. [NOW PUBLISHED ON AMAZON! You can buy it here: http://bit.ly/ColdFireBUY] [*SAMPLE ONLY* LAST 10 CHAPTERS REMOVED] [A Wattpad featured novel] Melissa has a rare, undiagnosed disease, or so say the doctors that did tests on her for half of her life. She doesn't need a medical certificate to tell her that she's different. She was born with a body temperature so low that most people would die before they even started living. Keyword: most. Somehow, Melissa has managed to live for fifteen years, but those years have not been without their hardships. The doctors told her that in order for her organs to function in such cold conditions, her body must absorb the heat from the surrounding air in a painful process dubbed a "heat attack", which slowly turns her temporary home freezing and uninhabitable. Forced to move from city to city in order to keep everyone in her vicinity alive, and plagued by the stares and hushed whispers that accompany her, Melissa tries to lead a normal life. But she's failing miserably. And when she's approached by the new kid in school, all hope of an ordinary life slips from her grasp. Suddenly, strange is the new normal, and Melissa finds herself wrapped up in a new world where ghosts aren't "just in her head", glass windows shatter unprovoked, and rare, undiagnosed diseases aren't actually diseases at all. And to top it all off, someone - or multiple someones - seem to want her dead. So much for normal... © 2013 by shayebay All Rights Reserved PUBLISHED JUNE 26, 2019 WITH TYPEWRITER PUB!! A xenophobic, alt-right wing advisor controls an unstable United States president. Through executive orders they utilize torture, censor the press, and construct monolithic border walls across Mexico and Canada. Only an unlikely hero can save the American people from complete totalitarianism. 2014 Thurber Prize for American Humor Semi-Finalist 2014 Reader's Favorite Silver Award Winner - Humor 2013 IndieFab Bronze Award Winner - Thriller and Suspense 2013 BOTYA - Foreword Book of the Year Finalist - Action and Adventure Chris Thompson thought his youthful dreams of being a secret agent had long ago been put to rest. He has a wife and child, a stable job with the US Customs Department, and--aside from a minor incident involving outsourcing American apple pie production to Bangladesh--no real worries. This all changes when Chris receives a phone call from the president of the United States, Oscar I. Wright, regarding a secret invasion of America from Canada and Mexico--an invasion somehow tied to the ''Big Mac Party,'' a cultish political party that worships the legacy of the notorious Communist-hunting Senator Joseph McCarthy. Soon, Chris is equipped with firearms, designer suits, government helicopters, and an array of gadgets worthy of any top-notch spy. His mission: infiltrate the mysterious ''Emergence'' program founded by McCarthy within the shadowy halls of the US government--and, ultimately, save democracy as we know it from the xenophobic demons of America's past. A unique, bubbling combination of Christopher Buckley-esque satire, political farce, and espionage comedy, Happy Utopia Day, Joe McCarthy reveals--through encounters with a hilarious cast of hallucinating politicians, Border Patrol commandants, crew-cut torturers, stuttering computer wizards, supposedly immortal pilots, and more--just how frightening a contemporary abuse of government power can be.

Every city has its claim to fame and for the city of Cytropolis it's their superheroes. But unlike the cities of Gotham and Central City, this isn't a good thing. Cytropolis is known far and wide as the city with the clumsiest and least influential superheroes ever. But it never mattered that much since the super villains were just as bad. That is, until recently when the villains decided to smarten up and open a super villain academy to train the newest generation (something that never occurred to the heroes). Luckily for them, Matt Miller has arrived. He may seem like an average, normal (even bordering on boring) seventeen-year-old boy, but when are things ever what they seem? He may be apathetic and bitter but he has super powers and he's kind of, well, powerful. He's the heroes only hope against the newest villain in town, Sinister Shadow, and he has no choice but to lend a hand (but he refuses to wear tights while he does it, he draws the line at tights). And with Matt's help (along with his little sister turned sidekick), the heroes just might win. *cover by @soundthealarm*

Heroes. Ever since they showed up, people have gone soft. They're adored, worshipped. Devotion is showered upon them like rain. It's about time someone knocks them off that pedestal they stand on, someone to crush their pillars of faith. Someone like me. A villain. It's perfect. I'll be the undoing of heroes. ≠ disclaimer: very much needs to be edited, very much needs to be less corny and very much needs to be entirely rewritten by me. if you approach it as a goofy, corny, old 2015-esque superhero book then it'll be a great time. i'll be honest and say there are no pulitzers here. completed ✓ highest rank in sf: #9 cover: @narwhelly

In one day, the world succumbed to a pestilence that decimated the living. In its place rose a new species: vicious, gruesome, wandering zombies with an insatiable hunger for the living. Still in her twenties, Cash has watched her friends die, only to walk again. An office worker with few survival skills, she joins up with Clutch, a grizzled Army veteran with PTSD. Together, they flee the city and struggle through the nine circles of hell, with nothing but Clutch's military experience and Cash's determination to live. As they fight to survive in the zombie inferno, they quickly discover that nowhere is safe from the undead...or the living. (100 Days in Deadland is a journey through the first poem in Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, the classic tale on the horrors of hell... zombie apocalypse style!) (Note: This is a draft so please excuse any errors. The finished novel is available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook).
