Dick never saw the man behind his parents death, all he saw was a shadow. Bruce never took Dick in, instead he was in the orphanage for 6 weeks before he was adopted. He was adopted by a man named Mr. Bushwah. Dick was taken downtown Gotham. Where he met the real man that adopted him, Tony Zucco.

What happens when the Justice league leaves for an off world mission and may not come back. Only there proteges don't know innocently waving them out the door like it's any other off world mission. (Focused mostly on Robin and Kid Flash, not a lot of the other proteges. But Robin and Kid Flash might go to Mt. Justice a time or two and see some of them.) Bruce never adopts Dick after his parents die. Instead Dick gets kidnapped by Tony Zucco and taken to a place called Auschwitz, an old concentration camp from World War II. Now it is used to brutally train young, vulnerable kids into committing ruthless crimes for the world's most wanted criminals. Dick grows up being beaten senselessly for holding onto any sanity he has left. Of course Bruce looked for him but after so long everyone told him to move on.
