Claire Gardener; 16 years old and gifted in many ways. Being homeschooled most of her life, and moving from country to country, staying isolated became her norm. The past haunts her, but she's come to terms with it - it made her who she is. But who Claire became terrifies her parents. They want what's best for their daughter, so they sign her up for a summer camp for other gifted individuals, in hopes of rewriting her attitude. Camp Dragonfly Lake is her destined home for the season. A summer surrounded by immature kids and overly optimistic camp counselors is not how she pictures herself spending her free time. Overrun with prejudice and detest, Claire sees no good in being sent away. Though, as soon as Claire arrives at her destination, she sees that it is everything but what she imagined. Fights, mysteries, the mythical, and self-discovering; coming to terms with that just because you look and talk like a normal person, doesn't mean you're any less of a monster.
