"never make a promise you can't keep" Mae was no ordinary girl, she was peculiar. Often referred to as an open book; her eyes being a dead giveaway to show whatever she was feeling. Her deep dark personality had always gotten the better of her; that was until she came across a certain mysterious boy. - Stay Peculiar

"So what's it like, Paris? The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame de Paris, French Riviera, Arc de Triomphe, what's it like, being in the centre of it all?" "She can't understand you, Fat-head." "A Fat-head is a 'stupid or foolish person,' I think we all know that I am not a Fat-head, quite the opposite actually." Pascale Bellamy was born with tiny holes, just beneath her fingernails. They never bled, or pained her, for the first few years of the girls life, they went completely unnoticed. As she got older, her body began to react differently and more severely to lack of water consumption: her skin would dry up, and she would become terribly sick. One, peculiar day, just before her sixteenth birthday, water began to spew from the holes in Pascale's fingers, sometimes like a hoes, and sometimes in the form of a bubble, as if there was no gravity. No more then a week later, a old women showed up at her door, and claimed that Pascale was 'Peculiar.' Millard Nullings: the invisible scholar. He spent his days among other Peculiar children of Miss. Peregrine's loop, reliving the same day, over and over, September 3, 1940. He was happy, and content, examining the people of Cairnholm, and memorizing their every move. One peculiar day, a strange girl shows up, looking scared, her skin abnormally dry, and only speaking a few words in English, a girl, with tiny holes, just beneath her fingernails. "We cling to our fairytales until the price for believing them becomes too high," My Grandfather would whisper to me every night after reading me a story. I would laugh, not understanding what it meant, and he would give me this look- almost sympathy- and comment about how innocent I was. I loved his stories when I was little- you could even say I was obsessed. They were only stories, though, so there was nothing to be afraid about. But when my Grandfather's stories began to become real, I knew I needed to find the answers. And this search for knowledge is complicated, only for those with the special tools for it can be successful. You need the Eyes of a Peculiar. Hugh Apiston spent the first sixteen years of his life in Wales. The summer before junior year, his parents relocate the family to Florida. There, he begins to attend Dawson Creek High School, where he quickly makes friends with the most unusual kids at the school. And though admittedly cliché, he can't help but fall in love with Jayne Easton, a cheerleader who just so happens to be dating the jock who likes to make his life a living hell.
