* CURRENTLY BEING REWRITTEN*
Pskov, Russia - Winter 1941
The Germans came quickly.
They stayed even longer.
Nineteen-year-old Katja Kuznetsova is left alone when her brother leaves to fight for the Red Army. By the time winter settles over Pskov, her city is already occupied - its streets patrolled by enemy soldiers, its people starving, its warmth stripped away piece by piece. Survival becomes her only goal.
Until she meets him.
Wilhelm Winter, a young German officer stationed in occupied Pskov, never imagined the war would look like this. A lover of Russian literature and music, he finds himself trapped between orders and conscience as the cold tightens its grip and the lines between right and wrong begin to blur.
A single act of kindness - a pair of gloves offered in the snow - binds their lives together.
What begins as fleeting glances and stolen moments grows into something far more dangerous. In a city ruled by fear and suspicion, Katja and Wilhelm navigate hunger, loss, desire, and the unbearable weight of loving the enemy. Every meeting risks exposure. Every choice carries consequences that neither of them can escape.
As winter deepens and the war demands more blood, they must decide whether love can survive under occupation - or whether it will destroy them both.
