Here I was, alone and on a dark path through the woods. What was I doing here? Well that's a good question. I don't know why I decided to meet him, or even why I forgot to bring my weapon with me. What ever it was, I was here now peering into the dark hoping this wasn't a mistake. Just when I give up on trying to discern anything in the darkness, there was a rustle in the trees behind me. I turned around, startled by the sound, and when I looked up I saw black feathers disappear behind the foliage of leaves. "Who is there?", I called out into the shadows. I squinted hoping I'd be able to catch sign of the movement again. As I was about to sweep the area with my eyes once more I spotted it. Hidden in between the branches, two gold eyes with slitted eyes of a predator started back at me. In them I saw the cold calculation of a beast surveying it's prey. I knew this look. And I knew I had to get away. I went to back up when those two eyes suddenly got closer as it pounced from its perch. Right at me.
