“Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if Tommy was still here. I thought of how proud I would be if I got to see him graduate. I imagined him walking down the aisle at my wedding because he would be the best man. Eventually my imagination had to stop at one point, because Tommy wasn’t here. And he would never be here again.” – There was one thing that Marilee Richards loved more than playing the piano, and that was her younger brother Tommy. At only five years old, he already endured more hospital visits than the average person. He had an incurable illness. In this journey called life, terrible things happen. What if there was someone who could help Marilee through it though? Read along and view things from Marilee’s perspective as she experiences tragedy, love, and all the other things that typical people go through. In the midst of this, can Tommy teach Marilee what music truly is about? As Tommy says, “Life is like a song, or rather a lullaby.”

"Niall!" I scream, skidding to a stop in front of his limp body on the hard ground. "Niall!" I shout again, falling down next to his motionless body. His eyes are closed tight hiding any sign of life. "Baby? Wake up!" I say shaking him frantically. Warm tears run down my face uncontrollably as I press my ear to his chest, searching for any heart beat. Slow and agonizing seconds pass until I can find a weak thudding in his upper body. "Niall!" I'm screaming now. "You have to wake up for me! I'm here now, please wake up." My forehead rested on his as I cry, and I cradle his cheeks with both my palms. "I'm here now, and I'll never leave again." I whisper. * * * Maci was a normal 19 year old girl living with her normal best friend Ellie. I tapped my pen onto my desk with anticipation. Why did I deserve to meet One Direction? I stared at my lifeless paper. The question kept skipping through my mind like a broken record player. Why did I, Cher Marie Lovett, deserve to meet One Direction? Lots of ideas swirled my mind, but one caught my attention. Without thinking twice, I scribbled onto the paper, “So I can lick Liam Payne's abs.” I know what you're thinking. That's probably the dumbest reason ever. But, hey, it was 100 percent truthful and its not like they're gonna read it anyways. Pretty pleased with my idea from God, I skipped over to Mrs. Richards’ desk and slammed down my masterpiece. “I'm finished,” I smirked with a mouthful of victory. Little did I know that a simple, ‘I'm finished’ would be my biggest regret yet.
