Zale is a cry baby. He can't help it. He just gets so mad that the tears start flowing, which makes him even madder. It also doesn't help that the world is sinking. Unpredictably, the land shifts and entire cities can disappear under the water. Zale and his family thought they were safe, until the water started to rise. They raced to higher ground and lost everything in the process. With no money, they find themselves in a world congested with flood survivors. They can't find work or even an apartment. Steel, the local underground boss, has an offer for them that will end with Zale's mother and sister in a brothel. It'll mean money and housing, but Zale won't let it happen. He offers himself instead if the group takes care of his family. Steel agrees. Besides, he wanted Zale to begin with. "Our universe grants every soul a twin - a reflection of themselves - the kindred spirit. And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other - even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love." -Julie Dillon. Dove had been plagued with vivid dreams all his life, about a thousand different lives with a mysterious blur of a man. He had never thought too deeply about it, more concerned with getting out of his dreary town and away from the ghosts of his past. In a last chance bid at a life elsewhere, Dove travelled to San Franciso for a job interview to be the personal assistant of prestigious businessman and billionaire, Eryll Beherit. Little did he know, that man was no man, and he would be the final piece of the puzzle that Dove needed to fill in all the cracks in his fractured mind...

Book One of the Haunted Lover's Duo "People in the real world always say, when something terrible happens, that the sadness and loss and aching pain of the heart will 'lessen as time passes', but it isn't true. Sorrow and loss are constant, but if we all had to go through our whole lives carrying them the whole time, we wouldn't be able to stand it. The sadness would paralyze us. So in the end we just pack it into bags and find somewhere to leave it." - Fredrik Backman, My Grandmother asked me to tell you she's Sorry. Still wrought with grief from the loss of his older brother, Eden Moir seeks out Malcolm Reed, the best SN lawyer currently working in the surface world. His intentions are mere justice for his brother, who was wrongfully murdered by hunters. Eden has been juggling work and home life, or more like drowning in it, and is in a constant struggle with the tight budget that is being washed away by his mother's drinking problem. Yet, Eden yearns for more as he gets to know Malcolm. He desires for the witch to be more than his lawyer, despite how detrimental it could be for his brother's case. Love is worth the risk, after all, right? Sadly, Malcolm might not see things the same way, looking at the bigger picture, not wanting to cost those around him the career he has built all for his own selfish wishes. But, in the end, there is something far worse at play, lurking beneath the shadows, waiting for the right moment to pounce... waiting for the right opportunity to dredge up the agony within Eden's heart once again.

"When you walk to the edge of all the light you have and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown, you must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for you to stand upon or you will be taught to fly." ― Patrick Overton, The leaning tree. Alwynn hadn't anticipated much from meeting an old friend of his parents. He expected a dull night filled with drab conversation and occasional pokes at his choices in life. He was prepared for that, he would just drift off into some serene place in his mind and let it all wash over him. Alwynn hadn't anticipated the 'old friend' to be a living, breathing Adonis capable of reducing the boy to a quivering, incoherent mess just with the flash of that ravishing smile. Vant Bayer, a man far too old for the 17-year-old, was just the man the boy was looking for. Little did Alwynn know, Vant wasn't merely a man...

"Good, you're early. Perfect. Come with me." From the tour Don gave me yesterday I knew he was taking me to the kitchen. I guess I'm about to find out why. "Make me that wicked cup of coffee you spoke about." God, his accent. "As you wish, sir," I said with a mock British accent. "And what flavor do you prefer?" I asked, looking at the variety of International Delight creamers. "Pick the one you like." His voice was smooth and soft as he said that. I couldn't stop myself from smiling or turning around to look at him. He had his butt resting against the counter. He had his arms crossed over his chest and one foot over the other as he watched me. I felt my breathing pick up at how sexy he looked. My God. He wore high water pants, this time green, and boat shoes instead of loafers. Someway somehow he managed to pull off a leather jacket with that outfit. I don't know much about fashion but I would not even dare to put those two together. I could tell he had really broad shoulders. An image flashed through my mind. I had my hands underneath his arms and my fingernails digging into his shoulder as he backed me up against a wall and wrap my legs around his waist, fucking me hard against the wall. Jesus Christ, I hope Tommy doesn't ask me about him again because he's going to be very pissed if I tell him I imagined my boss banging me against the wall.
