During the Wizarding War, Ron Weasley dies after confessing his love for Hermione. Draco admits he loves Hermione and Harry kisses her. Hermione know's Ron would be happy if she chose Harry but she can't ignore her feelings for Draco. She thinks and believes she loves Draco but she needs to hide her feelings and vulnerability from Draco when he sets her up and gets her kidnapped under his fathers orders. The sound of war, fighting, death and blood melted away so Hermione could only hear the thud as Ron's body hit the floor as he ceased to live. His skin became pale. But Hermione has received news that changed everything. She survived one battle, only to come home to another, and this time it may be one she won't survive. The second of May, 1998. That was the battle of Hogwarts. The day she though it would all end. 4 months had passed. It was August. And Hermione begged her parents to let her redo her final year at Hogwarts. She promised herself if she did go back, then no one was allowed to know what she had been dealing with and what she was still fighting. But what she hadn't been expecting was that Malfoy would find out far before anyone else would. He helps her more than anyone else could, showing both what the hard years had done to both young adults. From lethifolds to a trip into the Forbidden Forest, the Tournament creates new relationships and rips apart old ones. Nobody feels safe. And with good reason; what lurks in the Forbidden Forest is something that could cause the fall of the wizarding world as we know it.

This is a short fanfic based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. The story starts after the war, and Hermione is dating Ron, all while keeping her friendship with Ginny and Harry. She has a job at the ministry, and she becomes partners with Draco for work. Follow their romance with some unexpected bumps in this simple story. The war is over. Everyone has to retake the previous year at Hogwarts. Hermione Granger is made Head Girl and Draco Malfoy is made Head Boy. Tensions rise between the two. Ron starts acting very different, which takes it's toil on Hermione and Ron's relationship. What could be causing his sudden attitude change? And will things start to darken when Lucius Malfoy gets involved? What will he do? Can Draco and Hermione find happiness together or is it just not meant to be?
