A Scifi Anthology for The Flabbergasting Flash-Fic Smackdown Prompt Challenge. Cynthian Ludo stands among four men, recruits chosen for a retrieval mission to a long abandoned earth. The target. Five Luminous beings that looked like they had been woven of star-mesh. But these light beings were more than just translucent frames of star dust. They contained the last data logs of a peace delegation that went wrong many years earlier. And the recruits are not merely retrievers; they are grave-robbers sent to salvage the last witnesses of humanity's ruin. Welcome to my entry into the 2026 Flabbergasting Flash-Fic SmackDown. Have a seat and stay awhile as I put together some flash fiction while being at the mercy of some prompt masters. Popcorn, anyone?

Always love me some flash-fics; as well as a good SmackDown.

A series of prompt based writing entered into the contest by @LayethTheSmackDown TW: Some stories may include intense themes or elements of violence or horror. If I ever think a story might be too extreme for some people, I will write an additional message beforehand. I never write these elements solely for the sake of scaring, but instead to further the plot I have envisioned. Nonetheless, I will try my hardest to keep any graphic content such as violence, gore, horror, or other elements to a reasonable level. After all, SmackDown should be for everyone to enjoy!
