It's been 6 years since everyone left Hogwarts. Harry is the top Auror in the wizarding world, Ron married Lavender after being dejected by Hermione and Hermione... Things happened in her first year out of Hogwarts that she is not willing to say and she is working a new job that she will not describe. She keeps in touch with her remaining friends from Hogwarts but whenever specific subjects come up, she leaves. Draco Malfoy continues to be rich as always but stays alone. One night an unexpected visitor visits his house, they dont tell him much except for the fact the Voldemorts daughter is alive and likes to follow in her father's footsteps and that he cannot do it alone. So Draco goes in search of the brightest witch of their generation; Hermione Granger. When she reluctantly agrees to help him, they set off. Along the way Hermione learns that Draco Malfoy isn't the same as he was in school and Draco learns of Hermione's mysterious missing year. Draco Malfoy has been one of Britain's most eligible bachelors for years (wild party boy would be the better title), and he has no immediate plans of changing that. Except, as it is in her tendencies to ruin his life, Hermione Granger knocks him off the list by becoming his wife after a hazy one night stand.

One year after the Great battle, Hermione Granger has made the decision to return to Hogwarts and further her education as a special advanced student instead of accepting the very tempting offer from St Mungos to become a healer straight after the battle, unlike Ron and Harry who jumped at the offer from the ministry to become aurors without a second thought. Hermione was never one to accept a position she had not earned, therefore asking for a year to complete her schooling and write her N.E.W.T.s before accepting the position. Draco Malfoy, despite the prosecution he knows he might receive, has also decided to complete his advanced Hogwarts education. Over the past year he has remained locked up in Malfoy manor - a house now considered by locals to be haunted by the ghost of Lucius Malfoy after his death at the hands of aurors while trying to escape after the great battle because screams and cries could often be heard from the walls - due to the haunting realization of what he had done, and the torturous memories he had to endure. But now he has to face his fears and earn the forgiveness of those he has hurt, starting with the woman he treated like scum.

It's 6th year at hogwarts and all the students are returning for another year, the golden trio included. Ron has had a crush on Hermione for a while now and he thinks that he might finally work up that gryffindor courage to tell her. Hermione is shocked and doesn't want to ruin a good friendship, Ron is understanding and eventually moves on. Harry doesn't understand why Dumbledore keeps leaving the school or why Draco isn't acting his usual self. Draco was given a horrible task that his stressing him out and he doesn't know what to do. Hermione notices Draco's odd behavior, and with her natural instinct to help, she tries to help him. When Hermione puts together the clues of Draco's behavior, she realizes she has boundries to how far she is willing to help people.
