Emma Swan is ten years old when a new kid arrives at the foster group home. No one knows where he comes from, and the only thing he has with him is a backpack with a collection of books. From day one, Emma knows there's something peculiar about the boy, even though her instincts tell her to stay away from him. But becoming friends seems quite impossible, since he won't even tell her his name. Until the day she finds one of his books under her pillow. And what if every story that is written in there is true?

Five years after the final battle where Emma defeated Gideon and the Black Fairy, Emma and Killian find themselves deep into married life. With Henry off to college and a spunky three year old daughter to keep their hands full, life seems to have finally settled down. That is until their daughter starts developing some magical abilities that are sure to throw their lives off track.
