Zonnique remained isolated from everyone. She stayed away from the other children. Sometimes they'd harass Zonnique and call her names. She never said a word. She didn't have to. Until her thirteenth birthday; her powers had arrived and that's when she started raising hell.

Summer Jacobs knew full well about her town’s tradition. Every year at the end of the summer, a party would be held on school grounds without the knowledge of the parents or the teachers.
