I came to the end of the alleyway to another building it had a metal door, it was some kind of steel or iron I couldn’t tell but it was open, probably left open by someone fleeing for their life. I went in and closed the door behind me. I fumbled in the dark looking for a lock or deadbolt or anything. I finally felt something beneath my finger tips and turned it, I heard a click and it felt like a rush of calm fell over me. I slumped against the door breathing deeply. I couldn’t stop the pounding of my heart right away. It got so loud I began to think the Biters would be able to hear it through the door. I held the gun shakily in my hands and closed my eyes. It felt like every cell in my body had been shocked and worn out. I was so tired, but I was still on high alert. There were Biters right behind me and this was NOT the time to be passing out. Not if I wanted to survive anyway.
