Makoto wants to confess his long lasting love towards Haruka, but the other boy is only ever thinking about swimming and water. But when Makoto attempts to save Rei in a storm and nearly drowns, Haruka begins to think about another human instead of swimming.

All Makoto had left to commemorate his lover was a little journal with a very beautiful suicide note of 'Remember when's written inside. It's not like Makoto wanted to forget, but being reminded didn't help his emotional state. Or mental one, for that matter. Knowing how much more he could've done to prevent the suicide was what hurt Makoto the most; he could've comforted Haru and saved him, but he was just too late. And now he was falling to pieces. No one could save him as he fell into the lonely abyss of guilt, self-hatred and regret. All the tears, all the nights spent sleepless, all the cuts and bruises on the inside and the outside.
