Not your average wizard story. Josh finds out he's a wizard, but his parents don't know of the world of Magix. Following him to school, he's always the outcast, and classmates don't really like him, for all the wrong reasons. Magic works according my own rules, you'll find out during the story. This story is written chapter by chapter, out of my head. There's not really script or idea where everything is going. Also, I'm Dutch, so English is my second language, ideas, pointers and grammar corrections are welcome.

Expecting a peaceful if not affectionate welcome, Ivy finds herself in greater hardship than she's ever known. "How dare you bring me aboard this ship without so much as telling me what you are?" She yelled. Kincade let out a smug grin, one that infuriated Astryd even more. She took a few more steps toward him so that they were mere feet apart. He looked down at a doubloon he was holding and slowly turned it over in his hands as he spoke. "I saw a troubled woman in a sailor's pub, obviously hiding from the royal guards. Surely you must have gotten yourself into a sticky situation. And you don't expect me to assume what you are?" Astryd fumbled for words. What was he getting at? He lifted his head to look her in the eyes. "You're a thief and now a sailor. You know what that makes you, sweetheart?" "I am not a..." she shouted, but she stumbled at the last word. She pointed her finger in Kincade's face and whispered, "pirate." -------------------------------------------- I would like to acknowledge Thompson Editing Services, who is responsible for being my editor and proofreader for this book as well as an amazing writing mentor. Once upon a time, in a land known as Nuvinia, there were two statements that all inhabitants knew to be fact. First, the two kingdoms of Nuvinia, Dral and Proghund, despised one another and would spend eternity at odds. Two, one should practice extreme caution when at sea, because the waters were infested with seductive sirens who would happily sing you to your grave. For a young siren named Vivian, there were also two statements that had always been accepted as fact. One, she must not reach the age of eighteen before mating with and drowning a human man, or else be cast out from her pod to fend for herself. And two, she could not kill someone, even a human, for it would tear her apart. But she has to try. Just twenty-eight days before her birthday, Vivian sets out to find her victim. A quick turn of events results in her being taken aboard first a ship captained by a handsome Dralian pirate and then the boat of the dashing Proghundese prince himself. In the days that follow, Vivian explores the human world and its inhabitants instead of searching for a victim as her family believes she is doing-and the more that she does, the more she resents what she must do in order to stay with them. As she becomes friends with the prince and the pirate, Vivian discovers that her true destiny is to follow her heart rather than please others. And if she's lucky, Vivian may even stop a deadly war during her journey to find where she truly belongs. AWESOME cover by @elphadora!!
