Cara’s mother has disappeared. Her father isn’t talking about it. Her big brother Max is hiding behind his iPod, and her genius little brother Jackson is busy studying the creatures he collects from the beach. But when a watery specter begins to haunt the family’s Cape Cod home, Cara and her brothers realize that their scientist mother may not be who they thought she was—and that the world has much stranger, much older inhabitants than they had imagined. With help from Cara’s best friend Hayley, the three embark on a quest that will lead them from the Cape’s hidden, ancient places to a shipwreck at the bottom of the sea. They’re soon on the front lines of an ancient battle between good and evil, with the terrifying “pouring man” close on their heels. One chapter will be posted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until all 10 chapters are up. These will be followed by the second book in the series, The Shimmers in the Night. Chronos is the Keeper of Time, immortal and immobile, his body locked fast to the Heart of Time. His is the duty to ensure that a balance of time is kept, creation, change, adaption and destruction all in due time. But then something starts to poison the flow of the Heart and Chronos has to reach out to the one person he never wanted to face again. The man who bound him to an eternity as a statue sentinel; his son. But in the modern age, even the god of the underworld has to earn a living, and as the CEO of Charron Shipping Industries, Mr. Hades can't fulfill his debt directly. Instead he calls on mortal descendant, Ananke, who has no clue of her Olympian heritage. She'd been on a professional mountain search and rescue team, until one day she started to see things that weren't there. She felt like she was slowly losing her mind until many times removed great grandfather Hades himself hunts her down at a cabin and explains the deal to her. Still doubting her sanity, and his, she agrees to be Chronos' eyes, ears and hands until the crisis is averted. Chronos needs her to be able to blend into the many different pieces of time in vastly different paths of the universe and that means he has to be inside her head almost all the time. It's uncomfortably intimate for both of them, especially when it becomes apparent that Chronos's body is dying along with the Heart of Time.

The history of Tiseria is littered with ferocious battles. Battles, between the many different races, which threatened to engulf the entire realm. Races and creatures have become extinct, or very close to it, but, no war had been as terrible as the Dark Wars. Over a thousand years ago the Cultists of Volkin tried to bring forth their underworld god into the living realm. They almost succeeded. The cult had been defeated by the allied forces of the Four Kingdoms, and by the Covenant of the Magi. Tiseria prospered and there was general peace in the wake of the Dark Wars. Peace which had gone, relatively, unbroken, until now. The armies of darkness are rising once more. After more than a millennia the Cult of Volkin has returned, returned to finish what they had started. The cult is more devastating than ever, equipped with powers bestowed upon them by Volkin himself. They intend to wreck havoc, spread corruption, fear and distraught, through the kingdoms, and raise their Dark God once again. Releasing a corruption upon the physical realm, and causing the various races to become hosts for evil spirits, the Cult of Volkin is demonstrating their power to all. The descendants of the Covenant of the Magi and Knights Order, combined to create the Order of Light, must once again brave the horrors brought forth by Volkin's minions. Two knights have been chosen to undertake the suicidal mission of reuniting the races of Tiseria and retying the bonds of allegiance between them. The fallen, and dishonoured, Knight-Captain, Ryan Quinn, and the proud, and noble, Michael Crow, must traverse the three remaining kingdoms in hopes of uniting the Human, Dwarven and Elven races once more against the terror that is Volkin. With dungeons, dragons, magic and goblins set to cross their paths, can these two knights survive and what else will they encounter?
