Following Bruticus's ejection from the Ark by Jetfire and sent into the Exodus and crashed on an alternate Earth set in the 31st century, a company named JCJenson (IN SPAAAACE!) discovered the damaged Combaticons. Taking them in, JCJenson extracted their sparks and transplanted them into Murder Drone bodies. Simultaneously, the company dispatched them to a distant planet. Chase had developed some feelings toward Heatwave. Which happens to be the team leader of the group. He often feels like an outcast of the group. His past was something the group don't know.
