The air was stale as it filled her lungs, and the incandescent lighting shone so bright it gave her a headache, amongst other things. Just two weeks ago everything had been fine. Now, her lover was three court dates away from a potential jail sentencing, and she was one more question away from blowing up. Things were so screwed up, and there was little to nothing she could do to help, other than tell the truth. She solemnly swore to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, and she was. She just didn’t plan for things to be so hard. She's been in and out of foster are her whole life, and it wasn't until two months ago that she actually got accepted by a decent family. She has had trouble her whole life making, keeping, and opening up to friends- let alone anyone. She's always been very self reliant because of her lack of trust, and her unwillingness to let down her walls for anyone. Just as she thinks that starting over at a new school, would make things get worse when they had just gotten good, she meets her English teacher- Ms.Mills. She develops this inner war with herself as she gains feelings for her that go way beyond a student teacher relationship. One she believes that someone like Regina could not feel the same, she is damn near perfect, and for two she knows nothing can come of it because she is her teacher after all. Will her crush remain as just that? Will Regina see her as more? And what will happen when she finally lets her walls down?

Emma Swan has never really fit in with the crowd - she's the one generally deemed 'the outsider'. She has trouble making friends, trouble speaking up in class, the norm for someone like her. She keeps her walls up, never interacting long enough with anyone to form a relationship. She's never really connected with anyone...until she met Ms. Mills - her science teacher. Emma seems to have a special connection with her teacher, one she's never had with anyone before. But she knows, for sure, that nothing can ever happen between them. As much as Emma tries to ignore her feelings for Ms. Mills, she's got them, and they are fighting their way to the front of her walls, pushing them down, opening her up, which has proven in the past to be a big mistake.
