"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." For seventeen-year-old Jade Brown, everything in life was unfair. So unfair, she'd lost her smile. Her emerald eyes had lost the spark it once had. She just had one person to hold her together, but somehow, she managed to hurt that person too. Will she ever be allowed to be happy? Daniel Miller had everything anyone could ask for. He had the most loving parents in the whole world, the best neighbours to stay with, the best friend everyone wanted, and the prettiest girl to fall in love with. Yet, he wanted and needed just one thing. Time. That was all he asked of life. As long as he could remember, Lucas Ragan had been in love with his friend. It wasn't just a childhood crush, he had really fallen for her. He wanted to give her all the happiness in this world, and more than that. He wanted to love her more than anyone had ever loved anyone. But of course, some wishes can never come true. Will Jade find her happiness? Will Daniel get the time he wanted? Will Lucas be granted his wish? This is a story of three lives, bound together inexplicably, forever.

Michelle Silas may have a father with millions in her bank account, but after she sabotages the wedding to her dad's twenty-four year old fiancé, he cuts her off financially. Banks won't give her a loan to go to school, grants are not an option, and she lives in studio apartment with two roommates. So when Michelle met Bryce Santiago, a college sophomore who is broke beyond words but doesn't qualify for Financial Aid, a plan instantly formed in her mind. If Michelle and Bryce were married, they could qualify as independents and get grants to pay for school, books, and even some extra expenses. Thus, the "fafsa" marriage is arranged. What starts out as a scheme to get them four year degrees without debt becomes much more. Their rouse causes the two strangers to move in, act like a married couple, and cash their grants checks. They insisted it would all be for show, but what happens when their just-for-the-money marriage starts to feel real?

14 year old Kennedy Hoss lives with her older sister Hannibal in the run-down society of Musket, Missouri. A disease has taken the lives or many including their parents, and now people must live on "batteries"- life-saving devices implanted in their bodies that make them stronger. When Hannibal suddenly goes missing, Kennedy feels trapped knowing that there is no way for her to get help. In a whirlwind of bravery, Kennedy finds the strength to fight for her rights until the fence around Musket comes down once and for all. ---Prologue--------------------------------------- I twist this way and that in front of the mirror so that I can get a good look at my forearm. The doctors had explained to me that I'd be farsighted for a few hours after the procedure, meaning it was luckily temporary but extremely annoying. I hold my left arm out still, then make a fist and move it forward and backward. As my skin moves, I see the edges of a rectangular shape just beneath the skin on my wrist. Then I hear a small beeping sound and my veins light up red. I wrap a thick black Velcro bracelet around the battery so that it can charge. I look up at my own face in the mirror and examine my skin. The color is beginning to drain back, and I rub my pink cheeks with much gratitude. Today is the one month anniversary of me being plague-free. I was tired of being so weak. After I had gotten it, my muscles had shrunken and became weaker, and every time I moved my bones and joints would make cracking and popping sounds. I shuddered at the memory. Unfortunately my mom and had been too sick to save, but my older sister Hannibal and I had been able to undergo treatment, and with the help of our new batteries, we were completely mobilized again. © 2013, Diana Bail. Seventeen-year-old Jeremiah Davis hates the emptiness in his life. His mother's depressed and his father is too much of a coward to face it. So Jeremiah has decided to never face him again. Instead, he'll face his music. He knows it'll lead him to anywhere he wants: a prestigious arts university, a chance of a lifetime, and most of all, away from Smalls, Surrey (which is so tiny, it's even been taken off the map). But who would've thought it would lead him to love? Lead him to love an obnoxious, sarcastic, foul-mouthed, blue-haired girl, even if he won't admit it? No one would. Especially not Jude Jameson, an obnoxious, sarcastic, foul-mouthed, blue-haired teenager who would much rather spend her time at the local skate park or an alleyway, than anywhere else in the world. And definitely anywhere than in Jeremiah's company. But when an 'incident' occurs at their sixth form, fate throws the two in each other's paths and Jude is forced to take Jeremiah into the world of punk, indie, stressful parents and one-too-many beers. Let's just say that they're both in for one hell of a ride. All Rights Reserved.

I honestly don't know if Peter and I are friends, or that I want us to be.
