Through late night phone calls, midday dashes to apartments and the occasional lecture filled with colourful language directed to a person who needed a wakeup call. She knew what to say, do, act, to help a friend in need, But the one thing she didn't know how to do was to help herself. Mari never expected one little accident to affect her so much. So much to the point where she didn't know who she was, sinking deeper into a dark and terrible whirlpool, only a little speck of a bigger ocean, never to return to the way she used to be. She needed a life-saver, to be thrown wildly into the ocean, determined and resistant to the constant waves of negativity. That life-saver was in the form of someone she would never have guessed to be.

Does anybody remember the Disney poll that @PrincessTiana made before she deleted her account. That was really fun, and it had over 10,000 reads too. Anyway, before she deleted her account, she made this Disney Poll where she would give a list of a certain Disney category (Examples: Disney Princess, Princess Songs, etc.) And then she would ask you, the readers to comment or vote against your least favorite of the horde and the one with the most votes would be eliminated. As I said, that was really fun, but she unfortunately deleted her account and the story along with it. So I thought I'd bring it back! Leslie is a 14 year old orphan in New York. She’s stuck in an awful orphanage until she’s 18 years old. The only thing that makes life bareable is her big brother, Jack, who comes to talk o her through the orphanage windows. That is until Jack gets arrested. That’s when Leslie meets Spot Conlon, the fast talking, wise craking, cocky king of the Brooklyn newsies. He’s too cocky for comfort with Leslie and he just thinks she’s pretty. But as time goes on, will they develop feelings for each other? But by the time they do, will it be too late? Will Leslie’s past catch up with her? And will the roughness of the streets threaten to tear her and Spot apart?
