Jared Holmes is the only boy I have ever truly hated. When I was five, he put play-doh in my pigtails and my mom had to cut it out. Thus, leaving me with a ridiculous looking pixie cut. Seven years old, Katie and I were baking cookies for the schools bake sale. Jared was eight at the time and put worms in my cookie dough when I wasn't looking. When I was eight Mr Holmes had built a tree house in the backyard for Katie and Jared. Nine year old Jared pushed me out of it and broke my leg. I started my period when I was thirteen. I was staying the night at Katie's and thank god she had started her period before I had but Jared overheard our conversation and called me 'bloody Mary' for the rest of the year. The first time I had a boyfriend, Jared told him that I had herpes and he broke up with me the next day over text. Let's just say that being Jared's little sisters best friend did not have its perks. Katie Holmes has been my best friend ever since we were both in diapers and her brother was a narcissistic asshole who also happened to be my older sisters best friend. Fun, huh? Jared made it his life's mission to make my life a living hell. He knew just how to get under my skin and he loved every single minute of it. We would argue practically twenty-four seven. People at school were used to us by now. But of course, nobody would say anything to Jared about it because he was, typically, the schools Captain for the hockey team. How cliche. But despite all of that...Jared Holmes was also the only boy that I had ever loved. #16 Bestfriendsbrother 23/12/19 #6 sistersbestfriend 18/10/20 #6 risingstar 18/10/20 #20 badboy 14/12/21

Following a massive discovery at work, Mila, a brilliant historian, finds herself tangled up with a dashing collector, Ulrik, who quickly seems to want more from her than an antique and mysterious Viking sword. Season 1 of The Collector ***** When she's offered the opportunity to curate an entire exhibit, Mila Connelly chooses to make it about Haakon Odinson, a legendary Viking she's been obsessed with her whole life. And when his sword falls into her lap after being missing for over a millennium, she takes it as a sign. But before she can uncover its secrets, a benefactor swoops in, dead-set on taking Haakon's blade for himself. No matter how handsome and mysterious Ulrik Westergaard is, Mila refuses to let him have it for his private collection. However, Ulrik's determination is stronger than she thought, and his charm seems more than capable of chipping away at her resolve. Despite the intense rivalry, their attraction to one another grows with each of their interactions. Eventually, their interests shift away from the relic, and it becomes a matter of time before one of them breaks. But who will surrender first? The devoted historian who has waited her entire life for this opportunity, or the spoiled millionaire who has spent years looking for the artifact? Do you prefer your magic with one or two sugars? Or maybe with a nip of whisky? Days before their father's 70th Drunkening, brothers Artemis and Oleander Trevellian learn that the price of their usual gift -- two barrels of magic -- has skyrocketed, putting it well beyond their meager budget. Rather than find another present (what else do you get the pirate who has everything?), the two set off on a rollicking adventure across the whole of the Grunnic Isles to discover what's caused the shortage. Without their Da knowing about it, of course. From Sei'ne Heasley and 2017 Watty Award winner Leigh Heasley.

When the human government permits a large-scale raid, Charlotte is one of the unlucky women caught. As the last living descendant of the War God, Kindra's the only one who can depose the chief and save her tribe, but it will mean giving up the quest to rescue her sister, and the hope of ever becoming a named warrior.
