The Great War has begun and Private Thomas Stanley Holland must leave behind his wife Nora and their young son Nicolas to fight in France. I wrote this story remembrance of ANZAC Day and to commemorate the lives of those who were lost or forever altered by the Great War. I was also heavily inspired by the song 'Sleeper in the Valley' by Laura Veirs.
