Gus is dead. The cancer spread through his body and he died. But- What if he didn't die? What if the cancer didn't spread and he ended up being in the 80% chance of living after all? But what if Hazel Grace died? What if she got worse? Will Augustus Waters give up or will he be okay? *** Note: The story, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is NOT mine. This story however, is MINE because I made it. But some of the things in my book are from the original book by John Green.

"As the clocked ticked forward, while the whole world went on without realizing thousands of people died this minute, we're drowning in oblivion. Time is unforgivable. And one day, these stories will be forgotten too and if that day comes, who still cares?" Where are my manners? I need to introduce myself first. I am Hazel Grace Lancaster and I am 16 years old. On my 13th year, I have been diagnosed with stage IV thyroid cancer, but I'm okay now. I guess. And this is my diary. {I know John Green wrote this book in 2011, but I wrote Hazel's Diary as it happened in 2013. The quote above is written by my lovely friend, @estehless who wrote "Letters From Augustus Waters." Do not read this story if you haven't read TFiOS! This contains spoilers.}

This is The Fault in Our Stars except that Augustus stays longer than expected and gets to say bye to Hazel. I loved this book and thought it could be better if they got their goodbye. All credit goes to John Green. This story is written in the POV of Hazel Grace. Only in Augustus POV when it is written.

Spoiler alert! Do NOT read if you have not read TFIOS! What would Augustus said if he wrote the sequel that he promised to Hazel? Would he say that the Dutch tulip man is a con? Would he say that Anna's mom gets married to him? Would the tulip man and Anna's mom leave California? What would happen to Sisyphus, the hamster? I guess you'll have to see what Augustus Waters said...

All based off of the mentions of "An Imperial Affliction" in "The Fault in Our Stars". This is MY personal interpretation of John Green's description of "An Imperial Affliction". Hopefully my work is as good as read as his, and it's worry if Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters's approval:)

Credit for the idea of this book goes to JOHN GREEN. HE IS AMAZING. NOW READ HIS BOOKS. This is just my attempt at writing it. Anna is living in California with her one eyed mom, and her hamster, Sisyphus. She has recently been diagnosed with a rare blood cancer. Then, in walks the Dutch Tulip Man.... but is he who he seems? Anna is counting the days to her death... Someday, I really hope that John Green writes this book, but for now, I will satisfy myself with my own silly writing. *** Not exactly updated daily. If I feel inspired, then it will be updated. If not.. I don't want to rush myself***

My short story version of Van Houten's "An Imperial Affliction," featured in John Green's bestselling novel "The Fault In Our Stars." The story of a girl named Anna, a Dutch Tulip Man, and a hamster named Sisyphus.
