I remember that day, everything was normal. Everyone was laughing, and things were happy. I still remember the moment everything changed. When we heard that first bang, that spine-tingling moment of true terror. The heartbreaking screams of children crying for their mothers, the feeling of loneliness when you could see no one, just dust and dirt everywhere. We had no idea what we were in for... No idea how we were going to survive.

When I was in high school, I hated writing essays. We were always forced to write boring topics such as: Do you think the ACT should be required? or Should schools require uniforms? or Should schools require four days of school in a week or yeah, you get the point. High school barely allow any creativity and passion to flow in us to write what we wanted to write. It was just pretty much you-better-write-bullish*t-in-30-minutes-or-you're-gonna-die essays. I was never good at timed essays because I take a long time to brainstorm on what I'm gonna write. While I'm brainstorming, everyone's already on their second paragraph. I'm not good at bullish*t writing. I don't know why. I just wasn't. I'm much more of a feeling writer. I write what I feel. If I don't feel it, I won't put something random down. For some reason, I have to feel what I write to write my thoughts down. High school was just never a help to me. We all are expected to be the exact same. They can't expect everyone to have the same pace. However, in college, it was different. We got choices to pick our own topics to writing paragraphs and essays. I really feel that I developed more on my writing skills through choosing my own topics rather than write something I don't believe in or don't feel passionate about.
