Magic, illusion, love and destruction... Phil Lester came into this world like anyone else. However, he is far from normal. Born with intense magic powers, he has trained his entire life with a teacher to help him control himself so that he may live a normal and safe life without endangering himself or others. When he finally gets an opportunity to be on his own, Phil auditions for a magic and variety show in the city, where he meets the young proprietor Dan Howell. He is hired on the spot for his outstanding skill. Dan becomes intrigued by the talent of this new magician, but as he gets closer with him, he begins to think... Is it really all just an illusion? Phil didn't see the need for a lover, he had a hand go take care of most of his needs. It was his family who seemed to care so much about Phil finding a partner, whether it was a girl or a boy. It got to the point where Phil put up an ad on Craigslist. An ad that would lead him no where but straight to a man really in need of money. A man with the name of Dan Howell.

Dan is a prince - and a different one at that. Usually you'd think that being a prince is a dream come true, but not for Dan. He just wants a normal life, normal friends, maybe a boyfriend... Finally, he gets the chance to move to a place far away from his small kingdom and live with his Auntie Eleanor. The problem? He has to pretend that he's not a prince. Lying? He's not so great at that. But for someone who wanted a boyfriend but hated the idea of love, he never expected to actually fall in love. Phil Lester. The boy with the black hair, who actually likes Dan for Dan. And so Dan can't tell him that he's a prince in a place on the other side of the world - and he wants it to stay that way. Otherwise he'll have to move back home and never return. Will everybody find out? Will his chance at a normal life be ruined? Dan finds out that not everything is always normal, and most definitely, you can never avoid being one of those who love.

"'I miss you.' 'What do you mean? I'm right here.' He shook his head. 'No, I mean I miss seeing you. I miss your smile. Seeing you smile made me so happy. I'm still so upset that I'll never see it again.' I breathed in, a bit shaky. 'You've just got to remember that if I'm with you, I'm always smiling, okay?' 'I still miss seeing you. If I could have just one opportunity to be able to see again, even just for a moment, I would spend my time just watching you smile. That's all I would want....'" After a horrible accident, Phil loses his sight and goes completely blind. Dan's help has been amazing to get him through it, but Dan can't help falling in love with his best friend - now in daily need of his care and attention. This story is about love and trust, and how two friends - much more than friends - overcome the odds of a disability, and how they realize that no matter how difficult it gets, they will always have each other.
