June 26, 2015. Same-sex marriage is legalized in the United States and this starts a rollercoaster of emotions for Oliver. He decides to email Elio, knowing it's probably not the best thing to do, but he doesn't know who else to turn to. He didn't expect Elio to write back. ---- I saw the movie yesterday (November 26, 2019) and was blown away. I ordered the books right after, but haven't read them yet. So this is entirely based on the movies. (Well, almost. I did search for the name of Oliver's wife as written in 'Find Me'). The chapters aren't very long, some of them are pretty short actually. I usually tend to write longer chapters, but for this particular theme I can't figure out how to make that work. I guess a lot of the themes are up for discussion and interpretation, just like the movie. Feel free to add your own thoughts in the comments! Oliver returns to Crema to spend Hanukkah with Elio's family. Elio is close to breaking down. He loves Oliver. Oliver is getting married. Elio wants him to feel the pain he is in. Elio wants Oliver to choose him. Elio wants Oliver to make love to him for one last time.

This story takes place 2 years after the dramatic phone farewell between Elio and Oliver. Elio has been unable to turn the page, remains anchored to the past and needs to focus on his future. On the other hand, Oliver is in the United States and will shortly be preparing to marry by obligation. Life continues without stopping until one day the phone rings at the Perlman house, a call that can change their lives forever ... Will fate reunite them or will they never meet again ..?

Three years after Oliver left Elio in Italy, he returns to Crema wanting to make things right.
