Chase Matthews, a mostly normal kid going through his scene phase, has been friends with the eccentric and captivating David (Dahvie) Hardin since they were born three days apart sixteen-years ago. The two are the closest of friends, surviving school, bullies, vacations, and all of life's milestones together. Everyone at school calls them the Hardin Brothers because they've grown up so close.
Life is good between them until Fate throws her wrench. Chase is faced with the hardest moral decision of his life as one ill-planned evening shakes the very foundation upon which he stands and practically threatens the sanctity of his existence.
What boundaries is he willing to cross? How firm are the values instilled from childhood? What of the things he's been taught and the rules that go along with them?
And what about Dahvie?
What about the sanctimonious Southern small-town where he lives? What about his family?
Will his world unravel in a messy tangle of teenage angst and confusion; will it all pass like a raging summer storm; or is this something more...something permanent, something real, something he must discover on his own?
