The desert lands of Samrah are not kind, nor are the creatures that have stalked the dunes since the dawn of time. Beasts made from the blood djinn, lacking any emotion but rage, feeling nothing but hunger for human flesh and blood. But to Sabra they are nothing. Not in comparison to the family that owns her, to the people in the capitol city of Bazanar. She is a slave, marked by the golden collar she wears. Sold by her mother to a wealthy merchant when she was young, it is all she has ever known. But Sabra loves her desert home and the sand dunes she sees rolling upon the horizon from the windows of her owners home, she loves the sun upon her skin and the few moments she has to herself. the nights she manages to sneak from her shared chambers to explore the capital and the underground games it holds. With each win another coin slips into her pockets, each coin a step to buying her freedom. Any slave could be free after all in the country of Samrah. So long as they had enough coin to pay their owners. While Sabra strives for freedom so she may explore the desert she loves so, the sands around her are changing every day. Samrah is being thrown into unrest outside the capitol as foreigners flood the borders and towns fight against their own. A problem so few in the capitol acknowledge, until it is forced before them. Tradesmen are dying, buildings going up in flames, and a man with blue eyes is rumored to have been spotted in the forbidden temples of Sundar, god of all lands. ~~

[Explicit Content] Jo Bennett is an apathetic college student by day and a highly skilled spy by night. She uses sex to get what she wants and alcohol to numb her feelings. She's perfectly content with the status quo and has no intention of looking backwards... until painful ghosts from her past come looking for her. When Jo's long lost brother and childhood love break into her apartment, her carefully constructed double life begins to fall apart, piece by piece. Kidnapped by her brother's enemies whose end game is to kill them both, Jo has to employ every trick in the book to make it out alive. The question is, will it be enough? WARNING: This book contains sex (and lots of it), violence, strong language, and drug and alcohol use.

Shortly after the demise of the God-Emperor, Leto II, came the Famine Times--a period marked with strife and misery as the structure of his Imperium collapsed in the vacuum that he left behind and countless people throughout the known universe suffered the effects of immediate spice melange withdrawal. After nearly 4000 years of "imposed tranquility", that peace is shattered by an explosion of interplanetary wars, piracy and panicked migration towards the far reaches of the galaxy. With quickly dwindling stockpiles of the life-enhancing spice, the Bene Gesserit, Spacing Guild and remaining houses of the Landsraad are left in shambles and all desperate to maintain order and find a new source of the precious substance! It is within this tumultuous landscape that a seemingly insignificant exploratory vessel makes a discovery that will change the course of humankind forever... **This work is solely a tribute to Dune legacy of Frank Herbert and the continuation of those stories by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. No ownership of their material or copyright infringement is implied.
