Frank rimase di nuovo fermo, Gerard si avvicinò con passo felpato, afferrò la sua tunica e lo sollevò fino ad eliminare quei centimetri di altezza che li dividevano, il dolore di Frank si fece risentire, dopo essersi placato per qualche ora. «Non sei più servo di Nerone, ma mio, e non ti conviene non eseguire i miei ordini, sei di mia proprietà, quindi vedi di muoverti, altrimenti non sarò così benevolo come l'imperatore» ringriò lasciandolo di botto. Stava quasi per cadere, ma riuscì a rimettersi in piedi, il tribuno non stava scherzando e Frank capì che era il caso obbedire.
