The doctors nicknamed it 'blurry face', and there's absolutely nothing they can do about it; Dan will have to live without faces. That is, until he meets Phil Lester - the 'bad boy' of Dan's new school - who's face is strangely visible to Dan; much to Dan's wonder and Phil's distaste.

"No. The less you care, the lonelier you are." - In a world where people have the ability to flip an emotions switch, many people lack feelings and sympathy in general- including Dan Howell after a tragedy strikes and he can't take it. However, he meets Phil Lester, the outgoing flirt with too big of a heart to handle. The two become close, and Dan soon realizes that even with his switch off, he can't deny that Phil is slowly reaching to turn it back on, and Dan can't seem to push his hand away.

Dan is an overthinker, filled with potential and is a complete mess. His thoughts destroy him and send him spiraling into an inescapable existential crises. Phil is confident, arrogant and thinks hes the best of all, until Dan comes along and fills him with determination for a new route in life: Get in Dan Howells head

It was an accident, but Phil blames himself. Dan's gone, but Phil still feels him there. What did it matter if Dan was dead? Nothing.... Nothing mattered anymore....
