Young Ciel Phantomhive has found himself falling in love with his butler, Sebastian Michaelis. Sebastian feels the same way and confesses his feelings for Ciel after he has reoccurring nightmares. One morning, Sebastian wakes up to find a note on Ciel's bed. He was kidnapped, normally Sebastian would be calm in a situation like this, but having feelings for the young boy made him fret. A few days after this tragic event, the same kidnapper sets fire to the Phantomhive Manour.

"Because, in this world, appearance is everything. It doesn't matter if you lie, if you cheat, if you decieve, if you steal, if you kill, as long as you do it behind walls. We'll smile at each other while thinking of ripping each other apart. We'll step over each others' bodies, or corpses, to get to the top. Because us humans? We are just a big bunch of hypocrites who want to appear as something that we can never be."
