Eileen Blair realizes she has no life as time ticks by on the lame island, Cairnholm. All her days are filled with waitressing in the only pub at town or enjoying the company of the people she finds the least annoying, Tristen and Martin. That's until a new, out of place, mysterious boy comes to the island in search of the old abandoned children's home. He claims that his deceased grandfather knows things that no one else could perceive and would consider insane at the thought of it. The mysterious boy allows her to go on this quest where they discovered more than they could have ever imagined. Also, a headmistress who may be woven into the boy's and Eileen's family roots. During the time, they rewrite their lives in so many ways and show things that Eileen would rather keep as a secret.
