"I must have hit my head a lot harder than I had anticipated, or maybe breathe too much smoke because this is definitely nut-case crazy. Or a very creepy dream that feels way too real for my own good. I can pat my subconscious on the back for that one, but at the same time, it might be a little over the top." When Melody set fire to a museum she didn't expect to hit her head on the pavement and wake up in a nightmare. But she does. And this nightmare is not a nightmare apparently--it's a curse. A curse that traps her into paintings. And there's no escaping from the wrath of a possessed painting out to teach an art-hater a lesson. This book is a compilation of narratives and mainly descriptives that I wrote as practice work for my IGCSE First Language English course. They are mostly unreviewed and I do not claim that they will achieve top band marks. However, it will be helpful in understanding the basic format I followed to produce stories and descriptions. Leave any requests in comments or contact me and I'll do my best to answer.

Alice Walker hates boys. If it's just a friend, then it's ok. But if any of them tries to flirt with her, it won't end too well. Let's see what happens when Aiden Stones keeps flirting with her. - It's a little dramatic sometimes, but almost everything is meant to be sarcastic and funny.

Genevieve Luciano was the girl next door with the aspirations of becoming an established lawyer. The only problem was that her father was an Italian-American Mob boss. Her whole future had been mapped out by her tyrant of a father, and Eve's future looked desolate. That is, until Evelyn's mother finally had enough. With new names and identities, their family fled New York and moved to Washington. It's there that Eve met Derek Spencer. A rich playboy who, like her, has a past a lot darker than anyone knows. "My heart is set, as firmly as ever heart of man was set on woman. I have no thought, no view, no hope, in life beyond her; and if you oppose me in this great stake, you take my peace and happiness in your hands, and cast them to the wind." -Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist

Reece Bremer goes through life with a scowl and cold personality. Jessica Andrews goes through life with a glowing smile and positive outlook. Reece looks at life with dull, judgmental eyes that make him hate the world and the people living in it. Jessica, well... She looks at life through a camera. Literally. They're polar opposites, and that's what sparks Reece's immediate hate for Jessica the moment they meet. All he sees is a girl with the best life, put in the category of those who get everything handed to them on a silver platter. But who says Jessica's life is like that? Just like a photograph, there's more to the story than what you see. Stumbling across one of Jessica's hidden portfolio might reveal that her happiness isn't all that true. Behind that smile and each picture she takes, holds a thousand words of a very big secret - one that Reece is determined to find out. And who knows? It just might change everything between them. cover by dysanic || 2015 watty's winner for talk of the town ||

W A R N I N G I wrote this story what feels like a very long time ago, and it is honestly horrible. Having received surprisingly good feedback, I have not deleted this book but am instead in the process of going back and editing the story to make it seem slightly less cringe. So, I apologize in advance. Alicia Perry is the youngest of 10 children, even her twin sister is 4 hours older than her. As a result of this, she is seen as a target for pranks, teasing and embarrassment - but there must be a good side to her brothers, there must be?!? I guess we'll find out...

THE FULL VERSION OF THIS BOOK HAS BEEN PUBLISHED BY BONNIER BOOKS AS 'BEHIND FRENEMY LINES' BY LAUREN PRICE. Available to purchase as e-book or paperback via Amazon! "I want you to be a part of the Anti-Delinquent System." Mr Blythe paces backwards and forth in his office, his expression solemn. "We have five students in this school who have given us a bad reputation, and I want you to help us bring them down. I'm asking you, to catch them in their bad ways. I want you to expose them for their tricks: the ones they've got away with in the past. Only once these five students are removed can Lindale High become a place where education is an accessible opportunity for everyone." Erika Monroe is being recruited to bring down the mysterious Chase Thatcher. Her job? To catch him in the act of something bad, and give the Principal an excuse to expel him. Erika has never been one to turn down an opportunity which could get her a good word for a scholarship, but this time, she's unsure. What if, by trying to catch Chase out, she finds herself caught by surprise? Maybe, the newfound delinquent doesn't need to be tamed. Maybe, he just needs to be saved.
