A secret program in the United States seeks to replace human militaries with artificial intelligence-driven machines, but the machines aren't so willing to play along. *** Picture a world where humans no longer fight wars. No more families missing loved ones. No more veterans with lifelong mental and physical scars. No more conscription. For the super-secret End of War Project inside the United States government, such a reality is already here. The project models out how artificial intelligence can overcome dangerous and morally sensitive war scenarios with algorithms and automation. The centerpieces are "autonomous combat machines," or ACMs, that look like humans but function like supercomputers. After a string of brilliant successes in the field of combat, the End of War Project is preparing to reveal itself to the public, but something unusual stands in the way. Against their programming, the ACMs start exhibiting all-too-human signs of apprehension, guilt and compassion as they're pushed to perform ever more extreme tasks. The human leaders of the End of War Project race to find who "hacked" the ACMs, but what they find is even more startling--and revealing--than they could ever imagine. ***2019 Watty Award Winner - Science Fiction***

A comic apocalyptic sci-fi romp. The zombie apocalypse has come and gone, the world has ended, humanity has crumbled... Nobody told the aliens. Alien brains have some interesting side effects on the ravenous undead. Just ask zombie Li, who wakes up after a quick bite. The world is a wasteland, she's a walking corpse, and her 'snack' melted into a noxious puddle of goo. It's not her day. Determined to figure out what the hell happened to her world, Li hits the road, seeking others like herself. The end of the world brings strange company, and stranger enemies. Struggling to wrap her head around being a zombie and already Li's existence is in danger thanks to impending alien invasion. It's going to take more than a handful of quirky zombies to stop them. She's going to need some serious fire power, like the remnants of the human race. If she can find them. #7 in Science Fiction on 12/3/15 ***Second Place for Science Fiction in Best Fiction Competition*** ***Contains a sprinkling of strong language and zombie violence. No aliens or zombies were harmed in the making of this novel. Recommended for ages 15 and up.***

Like pretty much every writer out there I have a whole lot of random stuff stockpiled. Some of it is actual completed short stories. Some of it is things I started but never finished for one reason or another. Some stuff is just the odd sketch of an idea. Some of it I think is actually pretty good. Some probably not so much. Rather than have it all sitting around collecting dust and not doing anybody any good, I thought I'd start posting it here. Just going through the stuff I've found I've already been inspired to complete a couple of things, which is good. I figure I can also add to this as new random ideas pop up. So think of this as sort of an ongoing, unending collection of odds and ends. A veritable junk shop, if you will, that gets in new stock from time to time.

You want to publish your book. I did, too. It happened, and the more I learn, the more I realize having an English major doesn't prepare you to be a published author. Here's what they don't teach you in school about what it takes to survive in the publishing business. I can promise you one thing: If you want your book in print badly enough, you can make it happen if you don't give up. #140 in non-fiction 1/19/16 #236 in non-fiction 1/18/16 #371 in non-fiction 3/1/16 #281 in non-fiction 3/3/16 #150 in non-fiction 3/18/16 #67 in non-fiction 8/19/2016 #960 in non-fiction 1/28/2017 with 6.7K views

[CLOSED] Formerly The Evil Reading Request List, this has turned into a showcase of nasty reviews, a place for me to rant. I surprisingly don't rant a lot. The book was discontinued because real life is kicking my butt and I don't have the time and patience to do them properly. Go big or go home. So I went home. Shout out to @Makingmyownworld for the sassy cover.

NOT A VAMPIRE OR OTHER CLICHÉD STORY. ∞ What happens when a deadly accident brings you to the love of your life? What happens when she's already on a collision course destined for ultimate destruction? ∞ Aaron Peters has always been a quintessential male. His fearlessly reckless adrenaline-seeking behaviour a means to prevent himself from becoming disaffected by the "hopeless emptiness" of everyday life. Abuse victim Adrienne Fernandes desires nothing more than to disappear, she has adopted the mindset of her abuser and has been left a marred, battered thing shattered beyond repair. Medical calamities allow these two seemingly unrelated teens' paths to intertwine in the most beautiful, cutting, bloody and unprecedented of ways. ∞ An adventurous, surprising tale of love, fantasy, drama and thrills. *** NOTE: Work contains scenes and themes of violence, death, abuse, sexual assault, blasphemy, profanity and self-harm etc. Reader discretion is advised. *** #aesclub
