Excluding the most important holidays, there was only one other day a year that Grillby's was closed. If anyone actually looked inside, they would see Grillby sitting alone at the bar, his flames dim and with a picture pressed against his chest, reminiscing about a bittersweet past. No one would know why, but that was because everyone had forgotten the man Grillby had fallen in love with: W. D. Gaster.

Après la longue histoire arrivée à Asriel Dreemurr et Chara Dreemurr, les humains ont déclarés la guerre aux monstres. Démarre alors une véritable guerre sanglante dans le monde des humains, deux tranchées, les monstres d'un côté, les humains de l'autre. Armés jusqu'aux dents, les humains tentent de renvoyer les monstres chez eux, monstres qui tentent de gagner leur place dans ce monde. Parmi eux, il y a ces deux personnes, Grillby, et W.D Gaster. Durant la guerre, l'amour fait place aux armes, grenades, canons, fusils.. et pourtant, ces deux combattants vivront une histoire à raconter à plusieurs générations..
