“Is she dead? I think she’s dead,” someone said in a very, very British accent. “She’s not dead Louis, the doctors just gave her some medicine to make her sleep,” another boy’s voice said. “Do you think that’s her natural hair color?” a third voice asked. This one I could barely understand. There was a lilt to his voice that I just couldn’t put my finger on. “I don’t know Niall, why don’t you ask her when she wakes up?” someone replied sarcastically. Someone sighed, I was guessing Niall. “Her hair’s so, blond,” a boy said. “It’s okay Harry, we know you fancy blondes,” Louis said. “Just because I slept with that one blond girl does not mean I’m into blon-” “But she is pretty,” one of the voices said. I had lost track. “Yeah. She’s very pretty,” Harry murmured.

I lifted my gaze to meet his, utterly embarrassed that I ever even stepped foot into this room. I figured I could get in and out unnoticed.... Boy was I wrong. "What are you doing in here?" "The door was open and I saw my scarf-" I held up my scarf "I lost it earlier and I figured I could just pop in and take it back." "Oh," the boy next to him said. He smiled slightly at me, very obviously assessing my body. I rolled my eyes at him and tried to pass the boy barricade to leave the room. "Where are you going?" "Back to my room," I said simply. "Tell me your name first," the boy said, his brown eyes sparkling brilliantly. "No... I think I'll just go." "Well, mine's Liam," he offered. "Why don't you show her your toothbrush, that always reels them in," the other boys said, shuffling over to the couch. I blushed and looked at Liam, waiting. "Promise me you'll come back tomorrow," Liam said. I raised an eyebrow. "He's serious, he really is that romantic," the other boy called from the couch. Liam shot him a glare and he shrugged, his blue eyes sparkling in mischief. They seemed to be such opposites, but they somehow fit like a puzzle. They must be brothers or friends since birth. "Don't mind Louis, he's bitter because he's just been dumped," Liam said, smirking. "It was a mutual decision," Louis protested. "He likes to say that; it's less hurtful to himself," Liam whispered to me. "Now, can I get your name?" "Beth. Not that it matters."

{book 1} ✓ - ❝ Once upon a time… Wait, are you shitting me? This story doesn’t start like this. On the contrary! This story is about a girl who thought had enough of men but, of course, her words backfired on her face. Yeah, this girl is me. An average girl… Okay, not so average, more insane, I would say. Whatever. This is my story and if you want to know what happened, keep reading, because it all started with an eating contest. ❞
