When Jessica Lyons is offered the role of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice, it feels like fate has handed her the chance to find her own Mr. Darcy. All Jess really wants is to meet an old-fashioned guy who's thoughtful, honest and polite-a real gentleman, just like those romantic heroes in Jane Austen's novels. If he happens to be wearing a tailcoat and figure-hugging breeches she'd consider that a bonus. But in a world where everyone is pretending to be someone else, the line between reality and fiction is never as clear as you expect. Note: This story is a *Work in Progress*. The chapters I'll be posting are edited drafts, and I don't have a set posting schedule at present. Once the story is complete I will be able to update on a more regular basis.

* 4 Sample Chapters * When an eccentric old neighbour dies and names Violet March in his will, she is even more surprised than his estranged and spoiled family. To make matters stranger, she learns that all must attend a pretend murder-mystery weekend for any to claim a share of the inheritance. Being a good sport under constant scrutiny and suspicion becomes trickier when she finds herself torn between the romantic attentions of both the deceased's "favourite" grand-nephew and the charming black sheep of the family. Loyalty forces her to favour the former, but when it is the latter who inherits the bulk of the estate, a grave case of mistaken identities is revealed leaving Violet to determine whether pride and an unwillingness to be labelled a gold-digger may stand in the way of the love of a lifetime. *Cover from "Lake Louise, An Alpine Wonderland" by Norman Fraser, which is to the best of my research and knowledge in the Public Domain. *No part of this book may be reproduced or used in any manner without the express written permission of the author.

May Fredericks hates New York. Which is fair enough, since New York seems to hate her back. Just weeks after moving from Wisconsin to Manhattan, she receives the world's worst marriage proposal, stabs her boyfriend with a shrimp fork in a very public venue, and accidentally becomes notorious. And that’s before she gets mugged. At her wit's end, May washes up at a Packers bar in Greenwich Village, where she meets a surly, unhelpful guy who hates her shoes and calls her ex a douche. His name is Ben. He used to be a chef. Now he's a rooftop beekeeper with anger management issues. She wouldn't even like him, but he reminds her of home … and he knows where to find all the best food in the Village. She makes him laugh. He buys her tacos and cowboy boots. The longer they’re stuck together, the better May and Ben get along … and the harder they fall. TRULY is a quirky, modern New York love story unlike any you've read before. ********* About the Serialization TRULY, the first novel in Ruthie Knox’s forthcoming New York Series, will be serialized in its entirety on Wattpad. Ryla is being hunted for a murder she committed with a magic she didn't know she had. The stories Ryla's been told about those who possess dangerous magic, the Woven, and the brave rebellion that destroyed them, are all she's ever known. Magic is illegal, and their beloved leader, the Prestige, hunts down those left in hiding for the protection of the kingdom. Ryla fears the Woven just as much as the next common-born ... until she finds out she's one of them. After accidentally killing one of the Prestige's men with magic, Ryla uses the only escape plan available- hiding in the wagons of the Caravan, a motley crew of performers and tradesmen. But the Caravan has its own secrets and Ryla begins to glimpse another world beneath the lies she's been told her whole life. The Caravan takes her to a refuge, but even amongst the Woven, Ryla is an outcast. Her magic is unpredictable, sometimes resulting in disaster. When the Prestige gets wind of her whereabouts, Ryla must leave the safe-haven and learn to fight back. If Ryla cannot begin to trust in herself and in the criminals she's always feared, it may bring ruin to them all.

Love is patient, love is kind but above all, love is hard. "I am here to see the Archangel." "Aren't we all?" Replied the guard after chuckling at the blatant naivety of the frail woman. "Name?" "I'm here to see the Archangel." She replied stubbornly still not looking up from her shoes that peeked out from the bottom of her cloak, revealing more of her toes through their large holes than the muddy, worn leather that formed the patchwork shoe itself. They were her last pair. Not that she had taken many substitutes with her when she had left. A hasty departure was never well planned.
