Miyako wasn't always like this. She use to be an extremely happy-go-lucky child who embarrassed herself on the daily. She moved from Japan in the third grade, and when she came back in third eighth grade it was like no one knew her. Vera is a young archaeologist with a determination to prove herself in the field. The jinni's fascination with her quickly turns into dangerous obsession. Soon mangled bodies begin turning up all over desert and Vera has no clue how to stop it.
