Naruto's fiancée and his best friend were both killed in a sneak attack from Orochimaru after four years of peace. Not knowing how to go on yet not wanting to die, he was confronted by Kurama and Kura, the two halves of the nine tails that had been sealed/resealed into him during/after the fourth great shinobi war, as well as the Sage of the Six Paths. Given the option to travel back in time to change the past and save his friends before they die, Naruto goes back to when he was five, determined to save all his precious people. This is my first fanfiction I've actually written, although I've helped @AshtheAmazingMerlin out plenty of times with most of her fanfictions, as well as read countless others written by a variety of other authors. If you don't like it, don't read it. I don't own Naruto, and I don't expect I ever will.

The war had ended at a price and all Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto could ask for was a end together. But fate had always hated team seven. Once could say that it was cruel, thrusting a job into the arms of those who wanted to escape to death. However, another could say that this was a chance. A chance that everyone would wished for. A chance to start over.

Things weren't supposed to have ended the way they did. The war had lasted too long, countless of them had died fighting. They had fought until Madara was finally, truly dead. But now, there was only two left. With Konoha gone and everyone dead, neither of them accepted the cruel outcome. So, they went back. -- "You can't save everyone, death can't be avoided." "We can sure as hell try. We failed them once, it won't happen again."

The fourth shinobi war has ended, but Naruto is the only one left alive. The war had caused them too much loss. What happens when Namikaze Uzumaki Naruto is stricken by grief and will do what ever it takes to take back what he lost? The answer? Go back in time. (A.N. There will be no pairings, just SakuNaruShika bromance because I tried and failed to write romance. Ignore anything suggesting otherwise before Chapter 20/Chuunin Exams.)

The 4th Great Ninja War is finally over, but at a cost. Everyone is dead. Well, almost everyone. Naruto(along with Kurama), Sakura, and Shikamaru are the only people in Konoha left alive. Notice how I said "in Konoha". There are also 2 others as far as they know. Kabuto and Sasori. Interesting group, yes? Good. Than I hope this'll be an interesting story. Enjoy~ P.S.
