Es geht um das 17jährige Mädchen Sidney Cobain auch genannt Sid. Sie ist ein äußerst gutaussehendes und kluges Mädchen. In der Schule (Die Blackwood High-School) ist sie außerdem sehr beliebt, besonders bei den Jungs. Jedoch hat sie bereits einen Freund. Den sportlichen Frauenschwarm Jesse Dawson auch JD genannt. Er hat nämlich viele Namen - Herzensbrecher, Arschloch, Fremdgeher, Idiot. Jedoch ist Sidney nicht interessiert daran was andere sagen, denn für sie zählt nur das sie ihn ‚liebt'. Lauren Pierce ist eine 23jährige Geschichts- Mathe und Sportlehrerin. Nebenbei unterrichtet sie auch Fremdsprachen wie z.B. Englisch. Sie kommt an die Blackwood High-School.
