They come down to the conclusion that they need to move to a place where they can provide for their needs with hardly any money. This means that Alex had to leave his best friend, his only friend that he had known since birth. And he just knows that he won't take the news lightly. But they manage to keep in touch for years to come until one day, when Alexander is older, he decides to move to New York where his friend will be attending college. And he is a nervous wreck to meet him again. Will he still like him? Did he move on and find other friends? Regardless, he was terrified to find out. This is, just as the title suggests, a Hamilton College AU. I know it is a super typical story but this is my first Lams book. So maybe, just maybe, he was a little too impulsive, and maybe running outside before giving the police a call wasn't the best idea. Landing a punch on a far larger and armed stranger wasn't thought through either, and definitely not a good idea. His worst idea yet though, was taking his eyes and full attention away from said stranger to check up on the other man lying limply in the middle of the grass.

John smiled at himself as he finished the last few details. All this hard work was going to pay off, he knew it. He imagined Alexander's smiling face, his shining eyes, the kiss they'd share. He felt warm inside at the thought, to think it had really been ten years already. He put the finishing touch on his painting and giggled to himself at it. It brought back so many wonderful memories. He looked down at his hand and smiled at the ring there. He quickly wiped his eyes from gathering tears and took a last glance at the painting. Tomorrow.
