We weren't just dying, we were dying out. Going extinct. In an effort to save us all, a bunch of doctors with fancy PHDs created a virus designed to enhance our DNA just enough to uncoil the DNA of the plague that was killing us all. But in some of us, a gene mutated. There was a trisomy on some chromosome. I don't know the details. All I know is they released a virus to cure us. It cured some of us more than others. And now...
