In the shadows of the woods and over the garden wall lies The Unknown, and within The Unknown two sisters try to get back home after finding themselves lost among the many fables and monsters that they encounter on their journey through the woods. Stella, the oldest, longs to stay with the darkness and sorrow that welcomes her more than she ever felt welcomed in her own family. Nora, the youngest, only wants to see her sister smile and love again and get back home where she can fix her broken family. On their way home, Nora gets lost and Stella ventures out to find her little sister, but before she can search the woods she finds herself face to face with a person that left her life over a year ago. Stella, with a choice to make, must decide whether to stay with The Beast and his friend and leave her sister to become the woods around her, or go home where she wishes to leave her life behind.

Wirt finds himself wandering around the Unknown again, without Greg or even Jason Funderburker (the frog, of course) to keep him company. Upon running into familiar territory, Wirt begins to put two and two together about why and what the Unknown really is. ((Please bear with me, this is my first story and I'm just experimenting here))
