Dean Winchester has been going to Souix Falls High School ever since moving to his sort-of-uncle Bobby's place in his sophomore year with his brother Sam. He doesn't expect his senior year to be that enjoyable, but then he meets Castiel Novak, new senior and mute since he was seven. Dean has never fallen for someone harder, and Castiel doesn't seem to want anything to do with Dean. Cas asks Dean to stay away from him, but Dean just can't help himself...

Both Dean Winchester and Castiel Novak are single fathers with young daughters and absent mothers. That is, up until he meets Dean Winchester, an equally depressive seventeen-year-old who turns Cas's life around. Dean shows Castiel a new life, a reason to keep on fighting the fight, and the two soon realize just how much they need each other.
