Percy Jackson has a rough past. His mother was killed when lightning struck their house, his father rescued him, as did a mysterious women flanked by lions. He soon fell asleep and woke up at an orphanage, where he met his adoptive mother Hestia, also the director of the orphanage. He lived a happy childhood, especially when Hestia takes in a few old lions from a circus, who seemed to be drawn to Percy. But strange things marred his happiness.
