I've spent years playing drums in front of thousands of people without missing a beat. Then I met Evie Ruffilo. She's the younger sister of my bandmate, completely incapable of following simple instructions, and somehow still convinced she's going to learn how to play drums. Most days, teaching her feels less like music and more like damage control. It probably doesn't help that Noah and Jolly won't stop making comments, Nicholas is questioning every decision that led to this, and Evie has become impossible to ignore. Which is unfortunate. For several reasons.

When a custody battle needs a miracle, she marries one. Aileen Whitmore has spent her whole life surviving men like her father-controlling, cruel, and rich enough to get away with it. By twenty-five, she's a brilliant tech founder, a full-time parent to her thirteen-year-old sister Ingrid, and very done with the idea of ever needing anyone. Then their grandfather decides he wants custody. Her lawyer has one awful, perfect solution: a two-parent household, stable and respectable in the public eye. Translation: get married. Fast. Fortunately, Aileen's friend Tessa - PR guru for Red Bull Racing - has the best possible candidate for a marriage of convenience. Unfortunately... it's Max Verstappen - four-time Formula 1 World Champion, media nightmare, and the last person who wants more PR in his life. But he despises bullies more... and he's not blind to the fear in Aileen's eyes or the way Ingrid clings to her. The deal is simple: a love story convincing enough to keep their family together. No feelings. No mess. Just safety. That plan is perfect. Right up until the point they get punched in the face by reality. Start: Nov 23, 2025 Finish: Jan 11, 2026

He was a world champion. She was a problem no one warned him about. Max Verstappen's life runs on routine: race, win, repeat. No attachments. No family dinners. No room for anything that might slow him down. A fractured childhood and a brutal Formula One schedule taught him one thing-feelings are distractions. So when his father and team insist that adopting a child would be *good for his image*, Max agrees for all the wrong reasons. Enter **Aria Russo**-closed off, sharp-tongued, and carrying a past soaked in secrets, sirens, and survival. The daughter of imprisoned Mafia royalty, she doesn't want saving, and she definitely doesn't want *him*. Monaco feels like another cage. Max feels like another man trying to control her life. He doesn't know how to be a father. She doesn't know how to trust. Thrown together by obligation rather than choice, they clash, spiral, and slowly unravel each other's defenses-one tense dinner, one argument, one quiet moment at a time. Because sometimes the hardest race isn't on the track. It's learning how to love someone who never asked to be yours.

Max Verstappen grew up under a harsh, unyielding father, where losing meant punishment and kindness was a weakness. His life was all races, rules, and fear-until his half-sister Paige was born. In Jos's eyes, Paige is flawless, adored, untouchable-the perfect child he never let Max be. For the first time, Max feels something other than pressure: the fierce need to protect her. This story follows Max navigating life under Jos's shadow while quietly shielding Paige from the same harshness he endured. As Paige grows, Max's devotion deepens, forcing him to confront the cruelty of his father, balance the world of racing, and protect the one person who can remain innocent and loved, even when he cannot.
