Since the discovery of Anakin Skywalker, a majority of the Jedi Order were convinced they'd found the one who'd bring balance to the Force. With Darth Vader the Dark Side grew strong yet in the end, he killed the Emperor, not only redeeming himself but also finally restoring balance to the Force as the prophecy had foretold.
