Vasilisa's spoiled twin step-sisters broke the lamp so why weren't they out here in the dark looking for a replacement? A run-in with a possible witch makes Vasilisa really wish that her step-mother would learn to fact-check. (A modern re-telling of the Russian fairytale 'Vasilisa the Beautiful. Don't know it? Do you know Baba Yaga? She's from that fairytale.)

'When Sorrow Was a Boy' addresses society's views on gender discrimination when it comes to outwardly showing one's distress through crying. An entry for my school's poetry competition, which came in 1st place; the requirements were for the poem to incorporate the word 'transcendent' and a metaphor.
